Roylat.com

What is this strange name, Roylat? It is almost my last name spelled backwards. Just like the world, it is mixed up. It is an odd name, but I hope that it will become familiar to you and, by association, you’ll come to like it.

I started Roylat.com to pass along commentary and  helpful information that I’ve come across in my own search for understanding of the current world financial, economic, and policy crises.

If you were like me, your world has been seriously shaken by the financial implosion of last year and the ongoing economic collapse. I am by profession an economist (not exactly an accolade), with a Ph.D. from M.I.T., where I studied under Nobel winners Paul Samuelson and Robert Solow. By avocation and necessity I am an investor.

I’ve been observing the political scene and economy and participating in markets since the 1960′s. I hope that my education, experience, and independent circumstance equip me to make useful contributions to understanding what is happening, the effectiveness of policy initiatives, and what changes in policies might be helpful to human and world well being.
